Ocracats
Anyone who has spent time on Ocracoke Island cannot have failed to see a feral cat or ten. Pat Garber has written an excellent article as a plea for help from veterinarians who love the island. Please click here to read it and see the slideshow.
I am also including some photos of the feral cats that hang around the offices of Ocracoke Island Realty. We feed them daily and some of them are friendly enough to pet. Maybe you'd like to take one home with you!

Thank you so much for offering to help with our Ocracat dilemma. There is such a population explosion right now and there seem to be kittens everywhere. I have passed your e-mail address on to the author of the article this blog is linked to and she is going to get it to the appropriate person. Hopefully someone will contact you soon. I will follow up with you later to check in.
