Our family usually comes to Ocracoke in the Spring or Fall. This year we will be making a day trip the week after Christmas and I'm curious what all will be open. I'm sure we'll eat at Howard's, but will the Pelican still have a daily shrimp special? Will Jolly Roger still seat people outside? Is the coffee shop full of people in the morning? What is it like in Ocracoke in December??? I can't wait to see!!

Comment on "Serendipity"...Public Nuisance

what's the decision on the fate of "serendipity"?

Comment on 2009 Photo Contest Entries

Wonderful pictures that capture the diverse beauty of Ocracoke. We were anchored in Silver Lake in Nov 2004. The place was very quiet and cold - that was all I remembered. One of these days, I will put the video on my blog.

Comment on 2009 Photo Contest Entries

Love these! I've been giving them away over the years to friends, who marvel at their delicate beauty. I've never seen any like that since. I think we were very lucky to have been i the right place at the right time!
